The Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) met today to decide UK interest rates, and voted to hold rates at their current level
At the December meeting, the Monetary Policy Committee delivered its fourth interest rate cut of 2025, taking the benchmark rate to 3.75 per cent in a narrow 5-4 vote. In the refreshed guidance, the MPC retained its easing bias, stating that the rate trajectory was still “on a gradual downward path”.
