In Dallas, there is the High Five. In Los Angeles, the Hollywood Split. In Denver, the Mousetrap. In Santa Ana, California, the Orange Crush. All over the U.S., highway interchanges have nicknames.

The Texas Department of Transportation plans to open a new flyover ramp on Monday as part of the mega-sized new interchange it is building between Loop 1604 and Interstate 10 on the Northwest Side.

The ramp, the eighth built as part of the $463 million project, will link the westbound lanes of both highways. The interchange is to be completed next year.
