The company will stop making the pioneering EVs in the second quarter of 2026, CEO Elon Musk announced Wednesday.
First introduced in 2012, the Model S plays a critical role in establishing Tesla as a serious automaker and proving that electric vehicles can deliver long range, high performance, and advanced software features.
Tesla will end production of its Model S sedan and Model X SUV and convert assembly lines at its California factory to manufacture Optimus humanoid robots, CEO Elon Musk said.
