I hear this argument all the time. If you want to come to the gym and keep to yourself that’s fine but don’t criticize others for socializing. I’ve met many people in the gym both men and women that have become good friends outside the gym. There’s a happy medium between putting in the work and being social. I wasn’t feeling it. I forgot my weight lifting belt and was feeling tired. I met this stranger 2 minutes beforehand and he was already hyping me up to finish my set. This is what the gym is
