By leading the way nearly five decades ago she carved a path for hundreds of women to pursue a career that was out of reach before she stepped into the motorcar. Chicago's debut album "Chicago Transit Authority" celebrates 56 years! Released on April 28, 1969, the album was selected for induction into The National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress. The Registry archives audio treasures worthy of preservation for all time based on their cultural, historical or aesthetic importance in the nation’s recorded sound heritage. 25 recordings were selected for preservation – “Chicago Transit Authority” finished No. 1 in public nominations this year!!
