In March 1985, pilot Scott Gordon’s plane had a stuck right landing gear while nearing St. Augustine Airport, Florida. To avoid a risky belly landing, airport operator and stunt pilot Jim Moser came up with a bold plan: drive his Audi car at 90 mph down the runway to match the plane’s speed.
