#7: Impressions of the ECM/PECM process Electrochemical machining, or ECM for short, is one of the most important methods MTU uses to make compressor blisks out of nickel. Two different processing methods are used: ECM und PECM. Conventional ECM is used for preliminary contour processing, and the more-precise method of PECM, or precise electrochemical machining, handles final contour processing. PECM was developed as a method by experts from MTU. It has impressive advantages over other methods o
