This week, the rarest sea turtle species in the world nested on Brevard County beaches! 🐢 This is a Kemp’s Ridley sea turtle, and they are critically endangered. We get a few per year if we are lucky. They nest during the day and perform a fun dance at the end when they pack the sand in over their nest. If you see a sea turtle nesting during the day in Brevard County, please call The Sea Turtle Preservation Society at 321-626-1701. Also, please take photos, but give the turtle plenty of space.
