WE NEED TO STOP OPEN PIT COAL MINING IN ALBERTA • In 1976, the AB Gov’t created a Coal Policy that protected vulnerable lands from coal exploration and mining. • In 2020, without notice, AB Gov’t scrapped the policy, and opened up the Eastern Slopes of the Rockies to foreign companies to come on in, and explore / mine. • In late 2020, thanks to @corblund, and countless other Albertans, the alarm was sounded, and we, the people, encouraged the AB Gov’t to bring back the same policy from 1976.
